    Bio

Perhaps you are going through a rough patch and could use support and guidance, or perhaps you’ve struggled for many years and would like to see things differently, live things differently and are ready to “do therapy.” My passion is to help you feel more connected to yourself and the people you love and the world around you.
I draw upon collaborative, evidence-based therapy practices** to help you find balance and meaning, to identify and build on your strengths, while providing the support needed to get you there. My warm and compassionate approach is focused on you as the expert of your own life, experience, and story.
I am a creative, neurodiverse (ADHD-I), demi-pan, atheist/eXvangelical, white cisgender woman. I am a sister, a daughter, and a single mama of five (now-adult) children -- two who identify as queer. I am one who has survived (and grown through) many difficult transitions. I have worked fourteen years in social services, and been a service user myself, so I understand the difficulty of maneuvering through the various systems of care. I use my experiences to build rapport, provide a safe and welcoming space, and support as needed. **Collaborative Problem-Solving, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Trauma Recovery & Empowerment (TREM), CBT & Narrative Therapy.
I have an eclectic, holistic approach to therapy, incorporating attachment, family systems theory and interpersonal neurobiology. I strive be trauma-informed, anti-racist and gender-affirming. My perspective is (“big picture”) systems-oriented and informed by the work of social justice and anti-oppression writers and activists (for example: Paolo Friere, bell hooks, Angela Davis, Dorothy Day, Cornell West, Roxanne Gay, Delores Huerta/Cesar Chavez).

My clinical specialties include: anxiety, life transitions, existential concerns, complex grief/loss, LGBTQ2+, self-worth, gender identity, and aging issues. Whatever you choose to work on together, I'd be honored to walk alongside you in your journey. If any of this hits right, reach out. Let’s see if we might work together. - Warmly, Amy
