Am I Accepting New Clients?:- Keep a waiting list
Yes
Over my 35 years of practicing psychotherapy I have had the privilege of working with a wide variety of people and concerns. These include people experiencing Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other concerns. I have also worked with couples experiencing strain and disconnection in their relationship. I think efforts toward change and coping with difficult issues is best done in the company of someone with knowledge and compassion. I have knowledge of several theories of how to make changes and deal with stress. What works for one person or couple may not work for another, so my client’s experience and ideas about change and coping is important. Any approach is enhanced by compassionate acceptance of where one’s experience is currently. Acceptance does not mean we do not want change. It is, however, a healthy place to begin the conversation about the change we want.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker engaged in private practice, providing mental health services to individuals and couples. In 1980 I received a Master’s degree in Social Work, with a specialization in mental health, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have been licensed to practice in Oregon since 1983 by the Oregon Board of Clinical Social Workers. I worked at Benton County Mental Health for 25 years and have been in private practice for 10.
