Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) does not always present in typical ways and can be difficult to diagnose & treat. Join Emi Sumida Brown, PhD for a presentation on differential diagnosis, a review of helpful diagnostic tools, and discussion of treatment options.
Objectives:
- Learn OCD symptom dimensions and subtypes
- Share assessment tools for diagnosing OCD and tracking symptoms.
- Review the basics of using Exposure & Response Prevention for treatment of OCD.
Dr. Emi Sumida Brown obtained her doctorate degree in Combined Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, and School) from Utah State University. She began her Exposure/Response Prevention training at the University of Pennsylvania intensive workshop with Dr. Foe and her team, and continued training with The International OCD Foundation. Dr. Brown has a private practice in Corvallis, Oregon in addition to working as a staff psychologist at the Oregon State University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). At CAPS she offers individual and group therapy, including the Living and Succeeding with OCD group.
